Sunday, April 17th, 2011. 16:30Community Meal (April)
As we head into Holy Week, we’ll gather for a time of reflection and meditation.
Event Details
This month, as we turn the corner to Holy Week, we’ll gather for a time of meditation accompanied by the the music of Taize. These simple, meditative songs guide us into reflection on God’s immanent presence in our lives. One of the early abbots of the monastery at Cluny, Peter the Venerable shared: “Jesus will always be with me. Jesus will be my life, my food, my rest, my joy. Jesus will be everything for me.” What does that mean for us in the midst of our hectic, chaotic lives?
Every month we come together for an open community meal. We eat. We meet. We reflect. And we connect – with each other, with God, and with the community. As we do so, in community with one another, we try to work out what it means to be faithful in the midst of work, school, family, and relationship. In short, our community seeks to encourage one another as we connect the dots between faith and real life.
Our meals are hosted by the Anglican Parish of All Saints Sandy Hill (317 Chapel Street at Laurier). Doors open at 4.30pm, and the table is set for 5.00pm. See you there?
