Event Details

On Friday March 19, 2010 our friend Shane Claiborne will be joining us for an evening of worship, conversation, and resistance. In a world that has so many calls on our lives, what does it mean to live faithfully – what does it mean to live out our Christian faith in the real world?

Through the power of story, Shane will help us to explore a biblically-rooted social justice, connecting everyday life with scripture’s radical call to live mercifully and walk humbly with God.

Shane himself is constantly learning what this truly means through his real-life experience living and working in the Kensington neighbourhood of Philadelphia, where he is a founding member of the Simple Way community.

As a prolific author and much sought-after speaker, he often shares that “the work of justice goes beyond the left and the right, the conservative and the progressive,” since Jesus calls us all to root our faith in deeper soil. We hope that this will be an opportunity to join together with people from a wide variety of perspectives, in an effort to live God’s promise of barriers broken and creation healed.
