To kick off Semester One, a small bunch of Open Table pioneers went up to Golden Lake Camp for an amazing day of fellowship, reflection, food and fun.  The Day Retreat in September was so much fun, we thought we’d do it again, to kick off Semester Two.

So join us, Saturday January 16, for a fun day of connecting, reflection and games in the snow.  This is a great opportunity to deepen our bonds in this new-found community that is The Open Table.

Where? – We’ll be making a half-hour trip east of Ottawa, to a place called Tucker House.  This charitable retreat centre also functions as an environmental learning centre that promotes sustainable living.  There’s loads of space and a great big old house with a fire place and all the things we’ll need to have a great day away.

Rides? – Meet at the parking lot outside the residence at 90 University on the uOttawa campus, and aim to be there for 9am.  We’ll load into cars, grab coffee on the way outta town, and make the trip out to Tucker House.  We should be back to campus for 9pm.  If you have access to a car and can help drive folks, let us know.

What? – We’ll eat, dream, play, think and worship together.  There will also be a decent chunk of free time in the afternoon for things like homework, reading, or just hanging out.

Bring? – Bring warm clothes for inside and outside, and any instruments or games that will enrich our time together.

Register? – All you need to do is let either Andrew Hyde (yaya@uccanottawa.org) or Andrew Stephens-Rennie (oayouth@gmail.com) know you’re coming.  You’ll also need to fill out the registration form and bring it with you.  The registration fee is $25 (so bring that too).  Obviously, if you have any dietary or medical needs that we should know about, let us know that ahead of time.
